My first [(not that) serious] attempt about pixel font :)
But it's not that general purpose - its design and charset are both specialized for Hanyu Pinyin, the standard romanization system of Chinese, with tone marks signified.

Great start for a newbie
You should check out my "Pixel_Roman" typeface
You forgotten the numerals, punctuation, the capital accented letters, many, many accented letters, etc...
Updated with capitals with diaritics, numerals and general punctuations~
