This font was inspired by the works of Christophe Szpajdel (Lord of the Logos, 2010, Die Gestalten Verlag), as well as by the film trilogy and the following game titles (e.g. Middle-earth: Shadows of Mordor, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, 2014) based on Tolkien's epic masterpiece, The Lord of the Rings. Given the game theme, and the 48 bricks vertical limit, I thought more or less around pixel art, or pixel fonts. This is my endeavour to make a spiky blackletter in Szpajdel's black metal style that evokes the terror of Mordor at pixel level. This font has been extensively tested for best kerning, yet some issues might have remained unresolved.

In return, I'd like to share a few sketches with you to shed light on the full scope of this project. Project Mordor, as I call it, started its life on square paper. The sketches were made with a full size font in mind. The x-height was set to be 24, the ascenders and descenders were to be 12 - 12 bricks, respectively. One square on paper corresponds to 2x2 FS bricks. The resolution of this matrix could be doubled by the use of composite bricks. However, even at this early stage I realised, I needed some extra vertical space to accommodate the overhanging bits of a few especially large glyphs. As a result, I had to change course, and downsize the letters, and make a pixel adaptation. I've never done anything remotely similar before. As for how much I succeded: the judges are out there.
@Frodo7: Hope you will bring out the actual sketched version in another font.
I'd like to tell my appreciation to FS members for their supporting comments, favs, and ratings. As I said before, feedback is very important to me: it gives me inspiration and encouragement to continue my font building adventures. Thank you.
@naveenchandru: Yes, that's the plan to make a non-pixel version of the Mordor theme. However, don't expect to see it any time soon, for the task may require a huge amount of time, what (I regret to say) I seldom have.
Dear Elmo,
Please, don't call me master in the future. It is a bit embarrassing. With your creative qualities, and superb fontstructions, you are a true master yourself. Call me friend, or compañero, and I will be proud of it. I hope you understand me, dear compañero.
Your genius is showing.
Again.
I love how your mind works.
Lol jk a masterpiece. Worthy of Leonardo da Vinci himself.
The other question is the use of Fontstruct. It may be too complicated and restrictive, but I can't tell without doing some sample glyphs. I might just skip FS altogether and use Illustrator and Glyphs instead. But it would be a sorry departure from the platform I love, and been using in the last 5+ years.

Worthy of Tolkien's praise.
Particularly like the capital S, C, B, and lowercase h and k. Would like to see a non-pixelated font, or use it in a video game or something. You never fail to amaze the world, Frodo7. Excellent job.
Whoa... just... whoa. Epic is as epic does.
A bit hard to read, but really cool. Cheers!
Most amazing font I've seen on this website.
