An attempt at creating a set based upon each glyph being set in a square (with obvious exceptions such as i, f, 1 etc).
The 'Squarial' was the nickname for an old British motorbike - 'The Arial Square Four'

This san serif, textured, bold font is inspired by the old cast iron type on train carts. When I discovered the old train carts down at the 'Bristol Harbour Railway' I was fascinated by these incredible forms.
To create the structure of these characters I worked from one of the rubbings I took of a particularly nice iron plate and then scanned it into the computer to replicate the letters which where missing. I then printed this on to graph paper and transferred the bricks one by one to try and get the most accurate representation as possible. This is a clone

This is a display font that i have designed during the first term of my Graphic Design degree at UWE Bristol. I started with the word chaos, where i looked into propaganda posters, the breaking of objects and ordered lettering.
so using the idea of breaking apart text and overlaying outlines of a the font I created a visual chaos.
I believe that the font could be used in promotional posters and other advertising pieces.
All feedback is appreciated! This is a clone

I have always loved Grafitti and although impossible to capture the spontaneity of spraying the underpass or my neighbour's wall, here is a possible alternative!

That's my handwriting. Scanned a piece of paper with a handwritten alphabet and redraw it as exactly as possible. I know it's sloppy but that's the effect I wanted and my handwriting is in fact very sloppy.

A font based on my handwriting. This took ages to make (but was a good relaxant from all my studies cuz now is exam period >.<). It came as a surprise how grotesque my handwriting was -- in all meanings of the word.
BTW (in case you didn't know) the name is derived from the word 'ambidextrous'.

This Fonstruction was created in my first year studying graphic design at UWE. The design brief was to create a typeface using the key word; 'ornate'. I have taken heavy influence from gothic fonts and architecture, looking in particular at religion and religious texts. This font was based on the word pompous. It was created for a typography brief set in my first year at UWE Bristol. From the word pompous I was inspired to look at black letter fonts and ornate styles of decoration. Any feedback would be appreciated! If you use this font within your work please post a link with your final outcome, as its always nice to see your creation in action!

My starting point was the word 'energy' with inspiration taken from action movie posters and a bold, concrete cityscape.
