It may be partly because I've always loved that font. However, no font was the source of inspiration for this. The idea was simply to create something generic. If, in the process, it ended resembling DIN or any other font, it's purely by chance (and geometry). Because of it's eventual looks, the name is an obvious play on the word 'din'.There%27s%20something%20DIN-esque%20about%20it%2C%20I%20know.%20It%20may%20be%20partly%20because%20I%27ve%20always%20loved%20that%20font.%20However%2C%20no%20font%20was%20the%20source%20of%20inspiration%20for%20this.%20The%20idea%20was%20simply%20to%20create%20something%20generic.%20If%2C%20in%20the%20process%2C%20it%20ended%20resembling%20DIN%20or%20any%20other%20font%2C%20it%27s%20purely%20by%20chance%20%28and%20geometry%29.%20Because%20of%20it%27s%20eventual%20looks%2C%20the%20name%20is%20an%20obvious%20play%20on%20the%20word%20%27din%27.

Some glyphs came together fairly easy (A B C etc.), others took some doing (T Y S), some just don't work out well (G P Q Z), and some worked too well (I J).Although%20build%20from%20scratch%2C%20AUGHT%20should%20really%20appear%20as%20a%20clone%20of%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Ffontstruct.fontshop.com%2Ffontstructions%2Fshow%2F240731%22%3Eought%3C%2Fa%3E%20because%20the%20idea%20is%20the%20same%2C%20just%20a%20different%20execution.%20Some%20glyphs%20came%20together%20fairly%20easy%20%28A%20B%20C%20etc.%29%2C%20others%20took%20some%20doing%20%28T%20Y%20S%29%2C%20some%20just%20don%27t%20work%20out%20well%20%28G%20P%20Q%20Z%29%2C%20and%20some%20worked%20too%20well%20%28I%20J%29.

Started off quite different; this is how it ended-up. My conclusion: All fonts want to be blackletter....because%20it%27s%20not%20quite%20blackletter%2C%20is%20it%3F%3Cbr%3E%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3BThis%20font%20went%20through%20a%20lot%20of%20%28interrupted%29%20modification.%20Started%20off%20quite%20different%3B%20this%20is%20how%20it%20ended-up.%20My%20conclusion%3A%20All%20fonts%20want%20to%20be%20blackletter.
