Working with the theme 'destructive', I have investigated how eating unhealthy food can cause plaque build up and lead to tooth decay. The detail and shading on the letters represent the erosion of a tooth when it starts to decay. The font would be used for more decrative purposes but could also be used in add campaigns that warn the genral public of tooth decay. Due to the font being eroded its self it would reflect the information in the add and could even go as far as sublininally sending a message to the veiwer a warning that their teeth could end up looing like this font.
First there is a flourish, in which the beauty of progression is materialised through growth. Followed by distortion and an imminent spoil - I was inspired by this cyclic process.
Angles cant quite define this typeface, so 'Spoiler' as a decorative font chooses to ignore certain standardisation rules; each letter tries to recoil back into what came before.
The lettering, as I discovered through paper manipulation and layering, works organically off screen, for collage and mixed media poster design.
