Personally the title is just as important as the typeface itself. My goal was to create something just as fun as the title. My inspiration was 70’s style typography and design. I wanted to create a groovy feel while still being legible to give it the strength of more than just a title font. Bazoova is funky font ready to be the reinvention of the 70’s.
Hello! This is my font, Fade! I wanted to make a font that was similar to the brush effect on lettering and it wouldn't take long to make. That was when I figured out that I could make a font that faded and that's what I did!
Linea is a display typeface designed by Matthew R Stankiewicz. The concept for Linea is there is a non-existing lines going across the typeface to create open characters. Linea is mainly used for display type however could be used for body type. Linea style is a modern / European feel to it with smooth edges, this typeface looks beautiful huge. The non-existing lines goes across the top, middle, and the bottom of the characters. Making the eye focus on the space between the typeface standout more, creating a great display type for headers, titles, book design, ablum covers and etc.
This typeface is inspired by the old meeting the new. It is an updated take on older retro-looking type that one might find in an arcade. Stylistically, the font showcases modern or “urban” elements like the flat bottoms of each character as well as the black outlines reinforcing the weight to the left of each letter. The retro aspects are primarily present in the construction of curves at the top of each letterform, as they are not legitimate curves, but instead are constructed of more squared-off segments.
Songbird is a pixelated font inspired by simplified blackletter. It is reminiscent of the medieval time period, mixed with modern technology. Songbird was designed to be a display font and could be used in video games, on merchandise such as graphic tees, or for branding.
This typeface is inspired by the 1970’s and draws from groovy and retro psychadelic aesthetic of the iconic decade. The capital letters have much more pronounced swirls and a more bubbly feeling than the lowercase ones. Since lowercase letters appear more often, they were designed to be more simple and legible than the capitals.
Future Retro is a geometric typeface that has an implied roundness. The shape and contrast within each letter invokes a retro and a futuristic feeling at the same time. Future Retro is a sans serif display typeface with clear readability. Future Retro is great for large scale type in posters, signage, merchandise, headlines, titles, etc.
Going into this project, I knew I wanted to use thicks and thins to create drastic contrast, use mainly rounded corners to emulate bubble letters, and ultimately create a display typeface for limited use, such as clothing merchandise, as opposed to a text typeface. In the end, I unintentionally created a hybridized typeface that would fit wonderfully as the title of the hottest upcoming sci-fi film.
