Freakin' genius.
A Breath-taking work of exquisite genius. Who would mistake this for a fontstruct font? 10/10
@ RobMeek, do you have any idea why this and will.i.ૐ's 'Archly Gothic Sans' font are not showing in the latest "Everything" display gallery?
I've looked at my filter and sort options and it's set to Descending, and Shared Date.
Even when I do a sort they appear to be out of there correct positioning. I have even trawled through a hundred pages of the most recent fontstructions, and still no sign of them anywhere. :-((
They do appear on the fourth page of the handmadecomp tag.
That aside: I'm not a swearing man, but JesusBeepingChrist!
They should be on the first, I think, as they were both the last two fonts to be 'shared' recent.
It's an little bit odd. Usually when you share a font for the first time, it pops up on the 'Everything' page, as soon as you've shared it...usually!
Nevermind that. It will get sorted. Un-sharing and re-sharing sometimes helps.
Let's talk about how brilliant the fontstruction. Inquiring minds want to know the inspiration behind it. Talk us through the process.
Ha ha, I just did that and it worked.
A few months back, I decided I wanted to create a hand rendered Black Letter font using a calligraphy pen, for a Halloween Poster I was designing. I nearly released the Black Letter version for the comp, but thought it too obvious an idea, and it just looked too contrived.
So I then moved onto various hand written Alphabets at different angles and sizes using the Edding 5.0 Calligraphy Pen. It seemed to work. I then scanned the results into Photoshop, and created PATHS around each letter, by highlighting one letter, then selecting SIMILAR to highlight the rest of the font. I then exported PATHS to illustrator, and placed them over a grid (suitable for Fontstructing), and calculated which brick goes where.
A very long and time consuming technique, but with very rewarding results.
It was made less painful by utilising my All COMPOSITES SAVED IN MY BRICKS
Oh WOW! this is great.
the font is beatiful and the technique behind took a lot of time.
Bravo again this is PRO work
stunning work. you really did this here? i hope that you recorded or will otherwise document your technique. perhaps we need a place on FS where we can post tutorials. amazing font. versatile. organic. congrats.
This is awesome dj. Beautiful samples too.
@Upixel, u r spot on there with the time this took. I've still got the rest of the font to add, which is gonna be a killer.
@Funk_King. Much appreciated FK. I've written more details how I achieved it in the comments above.
@Aphoria. Huge thanks. I always feel a font looks lonely without a decent sample. Sometimes it takes a good sample to show it's full usage.
@FK: Hey maybe it's a good idea to set up a FontStruct wiki? Maybe on wikia or something...
Tweaked four bricks at the top right arm of C,E,F & T. to make it look a bit more eroded.
Great work here
Congratulations! FontStruct Staff have deemed your FontStruction worthy of special mention. “NCD Edding 5.0” is now a Top Pick.
Nice one Rob. Much appreciated. That now gives me an incentive to get on with lowercase and other characters.
I like this and hope to do my own fonts in a similar manner

We celebrate five years of FontStruct with an experimental new feature.
