  • i started this one a long time ago - the original starter file is dated 9/15/2009. this began as a result of trying to create a different isometric font. after building the framework or scaffolding, i did a few 'A' glyphs, but couldn't go any further. initially, i used square bricks to create the lines, but changed to circle bricks to get a smoother look, although it still looks kind of rough and well...like a cinder block :) it wasn't nearly as bad as i thought it would be to complete, but still challenging. no other versions yet, but maybe...

Awesome! Almost one year to complete...just like a real building! I would have made it 5x5x10 so the 'I','T' and 'Y' suit better...but its your font and its amazing just the way it is now.

Just awesome. I'm so glad you left the framework in the negative space, it looks like each letter is stuffed in a cage!

neurone error, tylo, upixel, naveenchandru, wurfle - thanks for the love :)

@ wurfle - you made me reconsider the name, since part of my original inspiration was this pic of construction scaffolding - which is very cagey. thanks.

Congratulations! FontStruct Staff have deemed your FontStruction worthy of special mention. “Scaffoldini” is now a Top Pick.

to be honest, I almost did not browse others' creations because I had come to fontstruct with the sole intent of creating a font that looked like something done by a mono-spaced dot-matrix printer, but then I saw your font and knew that browsing is worth it... that it is available for free is fantastic; I will use it today.

@meek - thanks for the TP. @sharperlight - thank you. yes, don't let Fontstruct fool you. you can make and find mono-spaced dot-matrix fonts, for sure; but i am only one of many designers here who make fonts that people will use regardless of what tool was used to make the font. sure there are limitations, but i think those of us who continue to use this great application tend to focus on what we can do and not what we can't. i hope you enjoy the font and perhaps stay awhile and make a few of your own.
