Muni is based on the characters of the automated displays on the newer Muni trains around San Francisco. See also Muni Tall. Use Muni and Muni Tall together for a complete character set including diacritics, small caps, small caps and lining figures, ligatures and Muni logo dingbats.

Love this one. The LCD on-train subway displays in NY have a similar grid. I've been designing this face (in my head) based on that system for a year or more.
I'll need to find another distraction on my commute!

Love it! I'm looking for these "realistic" fonts. A lot of fonts try to hide the pixel underneath, fonts like yours simply lie about them :-D
