a pixelated unicode font that can be read at small sizes.
14 sept '22, 17:47:11 hkt / massive update. added coptic, spacing modifier letters and improved readability.
What if GS Unicode wasn't just made of pixels? What if it had a better, more appealing width/height ratio? What if it utilized the new FS inventory? And what if I wasn't way too ambitious/crazy in making this? No idea, but I'm eager to find out!
I've split this font series up by plane since font files have a technical limit of 65,535 glyphs.
Things that are planned but not (fully) implemented yet are italicized.
This font (Plane 0) should also serve as the hub for most major updates (like those relating to the series as a whole).

Recreation of the pixel font from Now Production/Hudson Soft/NEC's "Be Ball" (1990) - oddly renamed "Chew Man Fu" for western release - on the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16.
This font includes a full set of hiragana and katakana characters. In the game's tileset, the dakuten and handakuten are separate tiles, positioned in the line above the character they relate to. In this recreation, these characters are pre-combined into a single glyph.
Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.
My first fontstruction, created for a project at UWE for the theme "squishy". I was inspired by the consistency of food products, especially bubblegum. To create these letters, I created 3D bubblegum letters by chewing and stretching the gum and sticking it on paper. I based this font off these 3D letters. It looks better zoomed out. I hope you like it!
Pandora's Blocks is a new kind of box. A better box. A box that contains things unheard of in the world of humans, a box that dissolves problems and anxieties and casts them unto the wind, a box that turns the words you say and the thoughts you think into ambrosia. Do the right thing and don't not not de-un-open the box. There are bad things living in there.
You must repost this message on Facebook within 30 seconds. If you don't warn at least 12 people about the dangers of pixel fonts by tomorrow, your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandma will rise from the dead and raid your kitchen. She was a master Sandwichologist employed by Sir Francis Bacon himself. Repeat, DO NOT OPEN THE BOX.
Experimental 12-segment display. This is my attempt at making an ultra-small segmented display suitable for printing on actual pixel art screens. As far as I know, this is the first fusion of Latin-style microfont and segmented display.
Initially I tried making this with 3px long segments, but the result looked almost exactly like Calculatrix 12. So I shrank it down to 5x5 to ensure it would take on its own look.
Of course, your pixel art style still needs to be a pretty big one for this font to work well - I recommend a display area of 82*7px or more.

Original size: 8.25pt (use multiples of this value for pixel perfection)
Possibly the last entry in the Derpberd family: A font which looks like the original Derpberd at pixel size, gets fuzzy at larger sizes, and finally reveals its racing-esque checkerboard pattern once you've enlarged it enough.
Original size: 5pt (use multiples of this value for pixel perfection)
This is a clone of DerpberdGS Unicode is a project I worked on over the course of several years so (almost) all languages get support! With 14,564 non-spacing characters, this font is finished (as of Unicode 13.0, and as of FS's pre-July 2021 glyph inventory). Please tell me if some of the characters aren't working. I'll try to fix them as best as I can!
This font will no longer be updated except in the case of fixing errors. I'm now working on GS Unicode 2.0, a non-pixelated(!) font that uses FS's current (all of Unicode!) glyph inventory, and is set to take much, much longer....
...so I'll see y'all on the other side~
Recreation of the pixel font from Universal's "Cheeky Mouse" (1980). Note the thin "C", excessively wide "M" and "W" (which results in an awkward butting-up of most following characters), and the missing pixel in the numeral "0" which differentiate this from later forms of this font, such as the one used in "Devil Zone" (1980). Only the characters present in the game's tile set have been included.
