I am drawing the white shapes not the black strokes.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cyrushighsmith\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cyrus Highsmith<\/a> in \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eyemagazine.com\/feature\/article\/space-and-rhythm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eye Magazine<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dear FontStructors,<\/p>\n<p>Peace, love and fair bricks to you all.<\/p>\n<p>By popular demand, and with all the <a href=\"https:\/\/fontstruct.com\/news\/2017\/06\/02\/connecting-bricks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">additional\u00a0bricks<\/a> and other improvements in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/fontstruct.com\/news\/2016\/09\/30\/fontstruct-goes-html5\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HTML5 FontStructor<\/a>, it\u2019s high time\u00a0for a new competition.<\/p>\n<p>The theme this time around is \u201c<strong>Reverse<\/strong>\u201d which you are welcome to understand in any sense e.g. inverted, backwards, opposite, negative, or however else you wish\u00a0to interpret it \u2013 literally or metaphorically.<\/p>\n<p>Remember to tag your entry with \u201c<strong>Reversecomp<\/strong>\u201d before the 8th\u00a0of July\u00a0and don&#8217;t forget to upload a sample image.<\/p>\n<p>Before starting, please read the rules below carefully, even if you are a frequent FontStructor.<\/p>\n<h3>Competition Time Period<\/h3>\n<p>Monday, 19th June\u00a02017 \u2013 Saturday\u00a08th\u00a0July, 2017<\/p>\n<h3>Competition Rules<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>You must be a registered FontStruct user.<\/li>\n<li>Your submission(s) must be posted and made \u201cpublic\u201d between 19th June 2017 and Saturday\u00a08th\u00a0July, 2017. Although you are encouraged to share your submission(s) at any time between these dates, your FontStruction submission(s) must be public (marked \u201cshare with everyone\u201d) no later than 8th\u00a0July, 2017 at 11pm PST. Additionally, your submission(s) must remain public at least until 15th July\u00a02017 in order to give the judges enough time to review all qualifying entries.<\/li>\n<li>Your submission(s) must be tagged with a \u201cReversecomp\u201d tag. (For fairness, during the competition time period, no FontStruction with the \u201cReversecomp\u201d tag will be awarded a Top Pick.)<\/li>\n<li>Your submission(s) must be downloadable. If your FontStruction cannot be downloaded, the submission will not be\u00a0including in the judging.<\/li>\n<li>Your submission must be a newly published FontStruction. Simply adding the \u201cReversecomp\u201d tag to an already published font is not allowed.<\/li>\n<li>For each submission, you must post at least one sample image in the comments of the FontStruction.<\/li>\n<li>No letters in each submission can be MORE THAN 48 grid squares\u00a0high.<\/li>\n<li>FontStruct cloning is permitted but the judges will be looking for original work.<\/li>\n<li>You may enter up to three FontStructions to the competition.<\/li>\n<li>This is a friendly competition. Cheering, favoriting and fun banter is encouraged but cruel and uncivil behavior will not be tolerated.<\/li>\n<li>No rules regarding licensing. You may choose any license you like for your FontStruction.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Judging and announcing the winners<\/h3>\n<p>All qualifying FontStructions will by judged by the FontStruct staff and guest judges, July\u00a08th\u201315th. Three prizewinners will be chosen. One of these will be the FontStructors\u2019 Favorite.
