RIBBON is a font designed to emphasize the little details in life that make things better. Originally just a doodle, the typeface evolved through many different styles and looks, before finally settling on the “folded” look, using sharp corners on letters and folds, the way a letterform would look if one really wanted to make it out of ribbons! I hope you enjoy the font and put it to good use on special occasions!
A font made to be very economical.
This design uses as few unique shapes as possible. In addition to extensive rotations and flips (see AR, EMW, FL, GJUV, IHKT, NSZ25), glyphs are made so that they can be cut down to make other glyphs in as few cuts as possible (see BEI, used to make ACDFLMNOPRSWYZ1235689). Some other glyphs (see QX.,) then make use of the cut parts.
This means that, were these letters to be physically made, the maker would only need a few forms to start with and could cut the rest in only a few steps.
The name was chosen because of both a running joke between friends and because it was the coolest-looking phrase I tried when I auditioned the font.
This one feels like it's been a long time coming. Surprised it only took me two and a half months to get all done, and half of that was it being on the backburner. A good, solid font with a futuristic slant to it. All Latin languages present and correct, as ever.
FRUNTSTOCT UPPER — FontStruct logotype uppercase reinvention
═══════════════════════════════════
This second font is the next evolution in my take on the Fontstruct logo type.
Its an experimental approach towards the reinvention of its uppercase letters. The first one was a unicase minuscule that was aimed at creating an improved version of the original logo lettering concept. FRUNTSTOCT LOWERremained faithful to the original letters, whereas FRUNTSTOCT UPPER is a complete reimagining.
Motivation behind the complete overhaul came after checking out existing Structurosa entries by other Fontstruct members.
It became evident that only one or two members truly were able to build upon its original concept and could come up with a 'unique' and decent majuscule.
AT Archistruct Outline by Kassymkulov (aka Architaraz) being the clear winner in my opinion. — Which is a true masterpiece !!
Some others 'tried' to be original, and made an attempt at a personalized lettering, but couldn't solidify ideas into a consistent whole. But the majority simply copied rob's original design.
— For that reason I choose to take the alternative road and tried to come up with something new.
I hope you like it..
Cheers
A typeface design that was inspired by a poster designed by chuck Sperry for Kraftwerk, at the Paradiso, Amsterdam back in January 2015.
I don't know if this already is a existing font, but I don't really care.
The letters on the poster simply kept begging me for a digital recap.
Enjoy.
Inspired bt the works of great Wim Crouwel and striped sports jerseys. Also a study in 45 degrees diagonals, happily provided by fontstructor and master Goatmeal. Basic latin support and a few ligatures. **UPDATE 19.11.2014 I worked out a few unbalanced characters and added ligatures. Hope you like it!
**UPDATE 2016: please check the new version under the name of Wim V2.
Improved version of Wim Gestreept, I reworked proportions and character balance.
