I was looking for a localization friendly pixel font and could not find any that had good coverage and was not outrageously expensive ($700+) for commerical usage. Thats why I created "PixelLocale".
This font is intended to be reminiscent of the original Pokemon Red/Blue games. Too see how they differ check out this image: https://imgur.com/ixoYRtd
It was important to me to create a consistant looking font across scripts.
You can use it however you like, 100% free with no attribution. Lets make the world more accessible.
Coverage:
Latin characters (815/815),
Greek and Coptic (119/119),
Cyrillic (263/263),
Georgian (83/83)
Hebrew (86/86) (Fontstruct has poor support form Niqqud and Cantillation)
Bopomofo (37/37) (Need feedback)
I'd love to add more scritps. When I started my goal was to have every glyph supported by Fontstruct, but after learning that support for many asian scripts was limited I halted. If someone can shed some light on these limitations and how severe they are and for what scripts they apply, please let me know. I can be reached at "johste[at]chumpware[dot]com".
I used Tile Molester (I didn't name it that way!) and extracted the Earthbound and Mother 2 font (English ROM and Japanese ROM) that was used in the game's menu and tried to combine and insert them here myself. (I used the Earthbound's Latin instead of Mother 2's bolder one, because most recognize it that way)
I've added a few hundred more glyphs to it, hoping this may come in handy for some fans out there. ^^ I'll add more languages (maybe use all the glyphs available) if you request it, otherwise, I'll only leave it at 878 glyphs. ;D
This font includes:
- Basic Latin
- More Latin
- Extended Latin A
- Extended Latin B
- Katakana
- Hiragana
- Greek and Coptic
To reference the game a little more... Katakana Middle Dot, More Latin's Middle Dot, and More Latin's Bullet are actually the middle dots that you see in the Japanese and English character naming screen, respectively. ^^
I don't have status conditions and the battle font in here, because it's pretty much its own font and I honestly can't find it in the game's file for some reason... (no clue what settings to use see those)
This is another clone of Monkey (my monospace lanky font); it should be very similar to the original except for the lower x-height and the added accented characters (More Latin/Latin-1, Latin Extended A, Latin Extended B, and now Even More Latin/Latin Extended Additional). It is 16 blocks tall and 6 blocks wide; all letters without diacritics are at most 9 above the baseline and at most 3 below, but the accents push the height of a letter up by 3 blocks (or rarely 4), and the box drawing characters extend even higher, to 16 blocks from descender to the highest point. This font uses the FontStruct 2x2 filter method with plenty of composite and stacked bricks, which lets the curves look good at large sizes while remaining sharp on the screen at normal sizes. Mandrill will look strange in the FontStruct preview if you zoom in or out, but if you download it, it will look sharp at size 16 or 12 (depending on the program).
This is a clone of MonkeyA multi-line design which is slightly reminescent of mazes/fingerprints. It's not designed to create functional mazes, but it is somewhat capable!
"Absinthelyric Print" is an anagram for "Labyrinthine Script".
*
Original size: 11.25pt. Use multiples of this value for pixel perfection. (If you use antialiasing, it will look perfect at most any size.)
*
Design rules:
1. Square bricks and 90-degree angles only.
2. Alphabetic glyphs must have open terminals; numerals and symbols must have closed terminals. Letters which do not terminate (D,O, etc.) must be broken so that they terminate.
3. Glyphs must fill the 15x15 grid.
4. Ligatures and combinatorial glyphs must fit into one letter's space.
5. Draw from the outside in.
Version 1.3: Added Polish.

Another simple experiment with composites, this time trying to make a font which can easily accomplish a "diamond encrusted" or "disco floor" style effect within my graphics software.
SPOILER: I succeeded. :D

This is a cloneHere is an extended version of my Atemayar Rigid Script. This script has taken me years to get to the point where it is. It is incomplete however I figured I would release it with the current list of characters that I have created. While I plan to complete it, it will be some time before this is achieved so please bear with me as life tends to get in the way sometimes.
I began this font August 31, 2017, and I'm releasing it 30 days short of its 2 year anniversary.
Based off the original alphabet of Atemayar Qelisayér featured on Omniglot created by Simon Halfdan Hvilshøj Andersen. Credit for all the original characters of this alphabet goes to him, as well as credit for inspiration. Some characters in this alphabet are wholly original to this font (most are not however), these are inspired wholly by the original Atemayar alphabet in one way or another.
I truly and sincerely hope you enjoy, this font is made for all to enjoy and to spread such a beautiful alphabet to be used for all languages and all writing systems. I love Atemayar more than any existing writing system, I take all my notes in it, and I wish that Simon Halfdan Hvilshøj Andersen's alphabet will be spread around the world and used by many.
The alphabets can be categorized into groups based on the following criteria:
- Pseudo-Atemayar: shares no letters with Atemayar, but appears similar
- Semi-Pseudo-Atemayar: shares a few characters with Atemayar, but overall still looks like its base alphabet and can't be read by Atemayar users
- Modified Atemayar: Follows all/most of the same letters as Atemayar, however has added or modified letters as well
- Classic Atemayar: Original Atemayar alphabet without change
The alphabets' classifications are as follows:
Basic Latin: Classic (except X, which is a ligature of K and S)
Punctuation (all except . , : ; ? ! ... " '): Modified
More Latin: Modified
Extended Latin B: Modified
Extended Latin A: Modified
Greek & Coptic: Modified
Cyrillic: Modified
Arabic: Modified (reversed letters)
Devanagari: Modified (line above letters)
Georgian: Semi-Pseudo
Armenian: Semi-Pseudo
Katakana: Modified
Hebrew: Modified (reversed letters) ***Incomplete***
Hangul: Pseudo ***Incomplete***
Bopomofo: Modified (dots above letters, ligatures)
Thai: Pseudo ***Incomplete***
AZUL is BLUE in Spanish. I choose the word blue because it always reminds me of ultra bold fonts. But i feel like just "BLUE" looks dumb so i choose "AZUL" instead. Btw blue in Chinese is "lan". Just imagine "LAN" as it's name lol.
Least important stuff :
I got this idea when i was thinking about if I design a poster for a JoJo character. it'd be Kira Yoshikage. And I was like "Gotta need a ULTRA bold font to show he's really danger" Now you know this totally unuseful thing :P
A little more important stuff :
This font is free for all use.
DO NOT PRESS THE B SYMBOL WHEN YOU USE THIS FONT. SERIOUSLY, DO NOT

This was a simple idea started from S and T. Most of the glyphs have two verticle strokes that are 4-bricke-wide and a 1-brick-wide area in the middle of the character. except I, L, S and T (actually a lot more). They are a bit different. Especially S, T and L. The whole characters are only 8 bricks wide. As I mentioned above, It's because the whole font started from these characters.
Straka the name came from last name of a person. The S and T reminds me of this person's last name. I like this last name although I don't even know him.
About the Latin extension, I have made only the glyphs that require no new design, just diacritics and already made letters. So I can pretend like hard-working on fonts but copy paste in reality. :P
Also, I made Arabic glyphs. Only isolated forms. Which I suppose won't be a comfortable experience to Arabic users. It's like every letter has crazy swashes but every letters are lightyears away from each other.(or is it?)
Credit me bcuz it took days and I gave it all to you for free. Unthankful hairless ape. :p
has it gone 2 far? hope it didn't hurt you.
A better version of BM MINI with much more characters. Compatible with English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, German, Portuguese, Hungarian, Danish, Swedish, Icelandic, Finnish, Vietnamese, Russian, Belarusian, Serbian, Ukrainian and Macedonian.
This project is abandoned.

First release of this font
Feel free to post issues, ideas and questions in the comments!
P.S. On Windows this font will be corrupted and would not install. This problem also occures in some other fonts with many characters in them.
You still can use this font as a file for some programs.
This is an expansion of the GUI/Menu font used in the 16-bit Mother games (Mother 2/Earthbound; Mother 3). This is usually referred to as the Apple Kid font, according to EarthBound Central.
The expansion is based off of Noto Sans by Google, as the font contains a majority of the Unicode glyphs, some of which are shown as □ in the FontStructor and many other fonts; that means that there are glyphs hiding in those □'s!
1:1 pixel size is 12 size font
The majority of all Unicode glyphs will be added soon.
Currently a work in progress. Expect some changes here and there occasionally.

Fun fact: this was originally named percentage, but I changed it so it fits the style more
The nudge tool was used for some glyphs, like the dollar sign and yen sign.
The "Make Composite" tool was used to make the gradient effect.
Currently working on Katakana
