"One Small Step For Man" is my futuristic font based on the theme of ambition. I wanted to create a simplistic and wide font that is longer in width than height in order to replicate the long steps taken by Neil Armstrong when he was the first man to walk on the moon. This was an iconic moment in history and a key representation of ambition and the ideology that we can do anything if we believe.
This typeface was created based on the theme of confidence and all about being flamboyant. Excess serifs are a fantastic way to present boldness in this form, so my aim was to create a sharp typeface with unnecessarily long serifs at the end of letters. The name emergent came from the idea that my font, with its shadow and serifs, should emerge and become prominent. It is emergent.
This is a cloneThis font is a representaion of the growth and life of my Grandmother. what I mean by this is how the eldery go from very educated and respectful people of society to facing demintia, Charles Bonnet sydrome and many more diseases. This causes the elderly to go back to child like ways and loosing their own personality. My type is elegent yet sharp, showing a study of the moods and movement of my Grandmother throught a 6 week period. what I understood from this was how my Grandmothers true self was screaming to come out yet the dieases would not allow it, this is shown through the sharp edges. Then the discreate soft edges on a few letters is the true women that is my Grandmother who is a religios and elegant trying to show herself to the world.
i looked around bristol at different grafitti. i found depending on the area where the grafitti was depended on what it looked like. differnet cultural settings such as city centre and clifton showed differnt styles. i focused my project on grafitti i found around Bearpit in city centre, looking at the quick and carefree grafitti around it.
