This was a simple idea started from S and T. Most of the glyphs have two verticle strokes that are 4-bricke-wide and a 1-brick-wide area in the middle of the character. except I, L, S and T (actually a lot more). They are a bit different. Especially S, T and L. The whole characters are only 8 bricks wide. As I mentioned above, It's because the whole font started from these characters.
Straka the name came from last name of a person. The S and T reminds me of this person's last name. I like this last name although I don't even know him.
About the Latin extension, I have made only the glyphs that require no new design, just diacritics and already made letters. So I can pretend like hard-working on fonts but copy paste in reality. :P
Also, I made Arabic glyphs. Only isolated forms. Which I suppose won't be a comfortable experience to Arabic users. It's like every letter has crazy swashes but every letters are lightyears away from each other.(or is it?)

More of an experiment than an attempt at an amazing typeface, but I thought it'd be a fun entry nonetheless. Don't let the creation date fool you: I started this design in early 2014. There were many issues that had to be remedied before publishing, most notably the lack of characters and major discrepancies between the shapes of serifs (some were entirely triangular, others entirely curved). This seems to have taken inspiration from my First-TP-font "Sandor Basic Stripes" :) but was in fact inspired by shattered windows of a deserted building.
I recently saw a type face with bits missing and thought "Looks interesting, can I do something with this idea?". I used one of my older sans designs but soon discovered that I needed serifs to get logic to the gaps ;) So I started work on a good serif design to use as the base. Here is my interpretation of what I saw, it looks rather different from the one that inspired me.
Slab Serif 300 as a stencil font. Bridges on the UC are vertical, on the LC horizontal. Bridges on numbers, symbols, punctuation are mostly vertical.This is a clone of Slab Serif 300
I started with the "Q" and worked from there. The "Q" has been kept with the more 'delicate' stroke thickness at base and apex (these thinner strokes also noticeable on the A, V, X, Y). I think the "Q" has qualities that could be transferred to a completely new font.
I was thinking of something else and the thought "go forth and multiply" came to mind.
The word forth brought to mind 4th, with the 4 fully formed as seen here. So it had to be done. In the process, I've made the personal best smoothest fake circle yet on fontstruct, backed by a pixel-by-pixel matching of a real approximated circle in Ai.
Dornach is a town/village in Switzerland where I'm on a family visit right now. It's very quite here, with lovely people who always greet me, asian looking guy, with smile ). The "o" was created not long after LoveComp's announcement, but it's here, in Dornach, with some spare time in my hand, I could finally find consistent development for it.
