Books are typically ordered neatly on a bookshelf, yet they also have an underlying sense of representing an educated 'order' within society, and in many ways connoting heavily with the court and justice. I found it very hard to get the angles I wanted in relation to the design I had hand drawn and it took me a long time to even try and get it to look vaguely right. It was stressed to me to keep away from pixels, so I had to work with the angles that Fontstruct gave me. Having also been given some feedback, I did some experimentation in terms of making the letters look more like books; using shading, lines and boxes but none of them had a successful outcome so I stuck to what I think looks best and right. There have been many challenges in creating this typeface but I am fairly pleased with the current outcome.
