I originally picked flaccid for my theme however when it came to generating my ideas they seemed very similar to other fonts already made, this led me to take one of my experiments and use it to base my font; Links. focused on repetition and patterns i chose to keep it simple and tried to make a complex looking pattern. any comments would be appreciated.

“WordCross” by James Sharpe (jamesadamsharpe)

Based on the theme of 'repetition' my type design is completely based on crosswords. A crossword is a word puzzle that normally takes the form of a square or a rectangular grid of white and black shaded squares, however i decided to remove the black background that is normally visible as i wanted to create a clear, sleek and flowing typeface. Initially i wanted to create the whole font out of 4x3, but soon i realised that some letters wouldn't work and that would then make the whole font harder to read so i increased my canvas size per letter to 5x5 maximum. The numbers have no relevance to the shape of the letters, they are just evenly spread so that they don't duplicate next to each other. I have started playing around with other versions of the font and hope to get them live soon.

A font initially designed on isometric paper in response to my 'words' brief at UWE. 'Ornate' was the word selected from a list as a starting point. My interest in isometric designs was triggered by Jakob Runge's Fracmetrica typeface. And I know my typeface isn't truly isometric; it's damn hard to create isometric angles on Fontstruct, especially as this is my first font on here. Any constructive criticism, suggestions or advice will be greatly received.
(I've no idea why Fontstruct has displayed my characters in such a strange order)

I might do some alternates in the lower case area, and possibly also numbers. But I really shouldn't. Funny how creativity flows, when you should be doing something else :p

Especially the design of the caps was hard; sooo many possibilities! However, i'm proud to present you my first real blackletter font :) I would like to add some more glyphs to the "more latin" set, but the size seems to be close to the download limit. It's downloadable yet, but i had to erase some glyphs...

ps:
there's an alternate "a" on "@",
and some decorative stuff on "#" and "*".

cheers
