When I discovered the old train carts down at the 'Bristol Harbour Railway' I was fascinated by these incredible forms.

To create the structure of these characters I worked from one of the rubbings I took of a particularly nice iron plate and then scanned it into the computer to replicate the letters which where missing. I then printed this on to graph paper and transferred the bricks one by one to try and get the most accurate representation as possible.

FatBot Sans is named so because of the expression of letterforms that look robotic but are extremely exaggerated in the extension and have fatty qualities. Rooted in the latin word for 'Dangerous.' This was an experiment in using FontStruct without filters. It reminded me of why I use filters 90% of the time. There aren't as many solutions possible.

Periculum died after a bad copy and paste malfunction. The resurrection process was like walking on eggshells, but here it is. Lowercase was rushed a bit just to get it out there for Aphoria.

The smoothness comes with the combination of preview scaling and anti-aliasing. It has to be scaled at just the right size to look convincing for on-screen purposes. This makes it more ideal for non-print related usage.

060415. Numbers
101815. Symbols added. Preview looks normal on the font's page, but not on the 'Handgloves' listing.

The x-height is 132 grid squares.

I used many of the new angles enabled by FS 2.0 (1:8, 1:6, 1:4, 1:3, 2:3) in an attempt to create very smooth curves.
