I genuinely enjoy creating fonts. I like to look at how letters are associated with each other, visually. Not just how a style should carry itself through a character set, but the relationships between a capital letter and its lowercase counterpart, as well. I like to make little adjustments so that sometimes these often orphaned letter associations actually make sense when they otherwise wouldn't. Other times I welcome the antithesis of that.
I used to design logos and websites, branding packages and marketing campaigns for small business. I was big on social marketing, loved it. Thanks to Facebook, Google and Twitter for betraying all of mankind and screwing every one of us, I no longer feel that my profession is a worthy endeavour. I lived on social marketing and they conducted treason against all of humanity.
So my retirement paperwork is in awaiting approval and now all I do is my art, which includes my fonts.

My most recent debacle is no longer a tragedy thanks to Sed4tives (Thanks!). ;)
I made an extra long space in Specials so that the line height and/or leading would work out with the 2x2 blocks (at least, in Fonstruct previews).
The idea is to have a spinning ying-yang symbol as the pattern to qualify it as a counter. Plus, it's a container, using the negative space where the pattern is broken-up, to define the characters. I also used mini ying-yang symbols to round some of the edges, or perhaps to define a boundry that required it.
