This font was based on the word pompous. It was created for a typography brief set in my first year at UWE Bristol. From the word pompous I was inspired to look at black letter fonts and ornate styles of decoration. Any feedback would be appreciated! Inspired by a lack of hard work, sitting down and laying back. Remove yourself from stress and responsibility. Despite the theme this font arrived from investigation into missing letters, bars, stems and other parts. Experiments drawing with the wrong hand, eyes closed and allowing the pen to do its own thing. 'The new italic'. A font for those who generally cant be bothered. It's the official release day for the highly anticipated Halo:Reach video game on the XBox360! A great excuse to build a Halo related fontstruction. This one was inspired by two Halo 3 multi-player game maps featuring Spartan related technology: Citadel and Guardian. The patterned techno-motif textures on the architecture in these maps are impressively adorned everywhere. It's hard not to be inspired. The design just came about after messing around with some shapes yesterday. The alternates in the lowercase are actually the first iteration of the design, updates are in the uppercase. Dedicated to my son who introduced me to the amazing Halo universe and encourages my love-hate relationship with the XBox360. He kills me. It's what he does. Another script experiment, again with a pinch of blackletter, but also with a solid lacing of rock'n'roll... For the fun/easiness of it, this was done with pre-2.0-features only. Funny how this already gives is an old-school feel. :)

A lot of refinement is still to be done... Suggestions are, as always, welcome!

And I will probably add some more latin characters soon...

I used a high-resolution grid and lots of FS 2.0 features to create this. The x-height is 132 grid squares. I used many of the new angles enabled by FS 2.0 (1:8, 1:6, 1:4, 1:3, 2:3) in an attempt to create very smooth curves. Ultra heavy slab serif uppercase only face, subtly celebrating the 4x1 diagonals of fontstruct 2.0... I hope some people will find more stylish uses for this than on college shirts/jumpers. It actually wasn't intended to have that standard college slab serif look, and I desperately believe that there's still a nuance of difference, but that might be an illusion.
