a venture into neon art deco, inspired by tortoiseshell's "night lyfe" (hence the name~)

This was a font made for the wedding of my brother and their fiance, many happy wishes for them and quite honored to have been able to design this for the occasion. Please enjoy~

ANTI-QUE — Asian calligraphy inspired

Anti-que features a romanized lettering concept that was designed to mimic the stylistic properties of Asian calligraphic characteristics.

LC letters here are simply stencil variants of the numbers and letters.

Opening day of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3! 
Celebrating with a spacy star filled background texture, bombarded by comets infiltrating multiple dimensional planes of existence. "Guardare" is Italian for Guardian.  

It's called ajicis because it is built upon the letters done for the wallpaper of Wipeout 3 game team AG Sys. It has the same grid structure but the letters look nothing like the original.

Also, this FS'tion was started on the phone (because I was too lazy to get off the bed and go to the computer). When I saw potential in the created letters, it was saved and opened on the iPad. The rest of the fs was done there. The only thing that couldn't be done on the iPad was adjusting of a composite brick. (It was fixed on the laptop days later.) So, 98% iPad. 

@RobMeek: The iPad version worked well. However, Menu->Edit->Copy, Menu->Edit->Paste, etc. got tedious. Can we have the menu commands in icon form docked or floating somewhere on (in?) the tablet version? The icons can be half the size of the Tools icons to save space. Also, can the tools and zoom be docked as well on the tablet version? It would be helpful. Thanks. 

 Opening day of Marvel's Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever! 
I started this late and suffered the consequences, but had to release something. This took a long time and didn't look like how I wanted it to or as good as I wanted it to, but there it is. WIP as I attempt to clean up and adust stuff. 

G1 ThunderGawd. Opening day for Marvel's Thor Love and Thunder movie AND final day for the FS HeavyComp! Time to kill two birds with one stone, or maybe feed two birds with one scone.

Can't wait to watch another film of Thor in the Taikaverse. Feels like I'm going to watch it about 50x, just like Thor Ragnarok. 

Thanks to this competition, this font brought the challenge out of me. Believe it or not, this is the simplified version of what I wanted to make. Really nice set of submissions in quality and quantity from everyone for the Heavycomp.

 

Opening Day of Marvel's Shang-Chi movie!!!! It's Marvel's first solo Asian superhero movie and it takes place in the SF Bay Area? Sign me up! Couldn't miss posting this today, although it was running late. Also coming off an Avenger's high after spending a week in Disneyland's Avenger's Campus. 

This is a tribute reworking of an experimental design of Rod Cavazos of PsyOps Type foundry. His Spanner font design from 1995 has always been a favorite of mine with its unexpected curves and serifs, making it similar to a Picasso portrait with letters. This fonstructivized version was a test to see if it would be possible to make an accurate reproduction. The answer was 'sort of.' 

Well break out the chimichangas and crisp high fives, it's opening day of Deadpool 2! Maximum Effort! This one's got a lot of holes in it. So many holes. It's holy crap! hence, the perfectly ironic name.

042718. Thor Ragnarok is the funniest of all the Marvel films. I can watch it over and over.  There is so much respect for Jack Kirby’s art style all over land of Sakaar. Growing up I never really appreciated Kirby’s artwork, as I leaned toward more graphically detailed artists. It wasn’t until much later that I recognized his great contributions to the entire language of visual expression in sequential art. I’m sorry I didn’t create this for the opening, but here it is for Avengers Infinity War.

042718. The Black Panther is the most dramatic Marvel film to come out yet. My jaw dropped when I experienced Oakland being represented in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And when Too Short was playing in the background I almost lost it. Wakanda Forever! I’m sorry I didn’t create this for the opening, but here it is for Avengers Infinity War.

Last entry for the Reversecomp. Based on the theme of yin yang, opposites, black vs white, reversed colors etc. Was in a hurry so couldn't quite make UC, cause there were so many various variants of this but the result is similar to the font I saw on Behance.
