I have found a way around the color problem. 

To make a grid like effect, you use the half space (&) to offset your second row by half a block. Then use the reverse half space ($) to complete the row.

Uppercase font with some alternates in the lowercase zone. You can find an extra third "S" in the "t" glyph. See also zhellbars, the striped version.

Unicase font with alternates. Special characters: Blank space at the "\", "LT" pair (kerned) at the "fi" ligature and the "TJ" pair is at the "fl" too. Better to see the font at big size. Enjoy and Happy New Year 2023!

I started this... more than eleven years ago (!), and changed directions at least a couple of times along the way, so perhaps it would have been better to start from scratch.

Anyway, I thought it would be an appropriate typeface for the holiday season :-)

Another unicase with alternates and also an optical experiment (this time based in a certain way on some works by the great Philippe Apeloig). Optional filled space placed in the "^" glyph.

Another optical experiment, testing border areas. Sorry if sometimes it's a bit hard to read and it shakes your vision, but that was the idea. It has only been possible using the colour options available to FontStruct Patrons. Thanks once again to Big Rob Meek. PS: "2 in 1 font", the black version of the SVG file also can works like an usual B/W font.

The inspiration for this font was the word "protect". After brainstorming and exploring various different ideas, one being fruit peel, I landed on this the theme of the Celtic knot. The sheild knot in the Celtic culture is known for its strenght and protection. It resembles a woven texture as is seen in the font above. The main purpose for the font Chosaint (Irish for "protect") is to be used in large title text.

Thanks to this competition, this font brought the challenge out of me. Believe it or not, this is the simplified version of what I wanted to make. Really nice set of submissions in quality and quantity from everyone for the Heavycomp.
