Gorgeous, isn't it? This is a reproduction of a cross-stitch pattern from the French series of embroidery books "Maison Sajou". It dates to around the turn of the 20th century. After seeing such a beautiful, ornate pattern, I just had to convert this one to a font, a process that took several months. The design is made of intricate flower buds, stems, leaves, and check patterns. The design of the letters is similar throughout the pattern, however no two letters have exactly the same layout (for example, flower buds are facing a slightly different angle). Each letter is intertwined with a branch that winds its way up the letter, and features representations of leaflets and berries. The 'I' and 'W' were not present in the original design. 'J' doubles as 'I' and 'W' is a rotated 'M'. While I would love to make up numerals based on the current letters, it would be a daunting task as each letter is about a 100x100 size grid. Anyone is welcome to clone this font and give it a shot. This pattern was found on http://patternmakercharts.blogspot.com/2010/11/sajou-no-601.html . This is a font that I have designed during the first term of my Graphic Design degree at UWE Bristol. My typeface is based on the word 'decay'. My letters take the form of teeth, these teeth have been decayed and have holes, cracks and rot on the actual tooth and roots. I developed this typeface by researching and taking photographs of rotten and healthy teeth. I then traced and made sketches from them. I then distorted the shapes to make up my type. This typeface could be really good for use in a dental industry for advertising against tooth decay or things like toothpaste etc..

One of my old designs brought up-to-date with FS 2.0 I have changed the name from 'RM Albion Too' to 'RM New Albion' because, whilst I liked the word play of the former, I thought it was a tad trite (and a bit Anglo-centric).

No reference used at all. This is me drawing Paul Renner's original Futura from memory, without intending to. Actually, I was going for something more Avante Garde. It all started with the O and developed from there. The hardest letter = S. It was a real pain in the S. It was interesting afterward to compare the letters to Futura after finishing the caps. Futura - It was like the Helvetica of 1928. Bezziaire is an early experimental simulation of Bezier curves with FS2.0. Zooming 30% and below renders best results. Horizontal optical compensation added for the circular glyphs, as well as baseline overshoots. 060510 Oh yeah, this also has preliminary involvement with shasta's circle competition, which is seriously humbled by his Circle Cult.

This is based on the Snellen Eye Chart. The l/c is reversed as opticians sometimes use a mirror to reflect the chart (which is placed behind the patient).
