This is my first typeface, it is based around the theme of "fluid". I was initially inspired by foreign alphabets/symbols/logograms. In particular, Arabic characters in a Chinese calligraphic style. Aqua - a typeface inspired by the reflections, shadows, highlights and transparency of water. My starting point was the theme of fluidity, and I developed my ideas by making observational drawings of water in containers. At the same time I paid close attention to the letterforms of existing sans serif fonts, and was further informed by similar styles of type used in net art.
