Close enough to real squares and circles (!), but it appears that would be 1.5 2 1.3 1
October 24: adjusted letters and letter spacing (to be consistent with the interior of the letters... I think)

I got the idea from the circle blocks. The smaller the circle, the more the font has a look that it's vanishing at the top.

Hard kerning in this one, you see! But it's my continuous battle with fonts like this (two bricks x-height, filters 2:2). A lot of alternates in the lower case to improve the kern. Fontstructing.

Every (almost) glyph has a matching pair, rotated, mirrored or otherwise. Some are quite forced.

Beauty from imperfection...
Using the "nudge" tool, I tried to make a dot matrix font where it looks like the print-head was damaged and the pins were consistently mis-aligned. Using a spreadsheet to help randomize the dot positions from center ( U/D/L/R ), the resulting effect looks merely "OK" on the screen; it's just not as subtle as I had hoped...
But you know what? I printed a couple of pages of text using this TTF font at 12-pt, and it seems to have a more 'natural' and 'authentic' look than dots that are perfectly aligned! So, I consider this one a success, and I hope you do, too. ;^)

Really excited to be able to share this fontstruction, as it was developed as the display font for a group exhibition in Dublin's Temple Bar Gallery + Studios. A kerned version (slightly tweaked using Glyphs) can be downloaded for free through the gallery website.

No reference used at all. This is me drawing Paul Renner's original Futura from memory, without intending to. Actually, I was going for something more Avante Garde. It all started with the O and developed from there. The hardest letter = S. It was a real pain in the S. It was interesting afterward to compare the letters to Futura after finishing the caps.
Futura - It was like the Helvetica of 1928.
Bezziaire is an early experimental simulation of Bezier curves with FS2.0. Zooming 30% and below renders best results.
Horizontal optical compensation added for the circular glyphs, as well as baseline overshoots.

Oh yeah, this also has preliminary involvement with shasta's circle competition, which is seriously humbled by his Circle Cult.

In the case of 7-pixel-tall characters, one row of dead pixels is added (stragetically). ;)

A work in progress. Quite simply a pixel modern roman typeface. The yogh (ȝ) I have designed as a mix between x and g. I thought of it as a latin letter gamma (ɣ) to distinguish it from the greek letter gamma (γ), but maybe it would do better as an insular g (ᵹ). What do you think?
I have gone with a classic seriffed look for the greek letters. I have looked a lot at Times New Roman to see the stress of the different characters. Do my solutions work?
Oh, and about the name: "Sprogreolen" is Danish for 'The Language Shelves', the pun being that "Bogreolen" would be 'The Bookcase' or 'The Book Shelves'.

I wanted to create a light serif typeface that is clear and readable and at the same time sort of elegant. Don't know whether I did all this, really...

Licht Sans is a regular, rather condensed typeface that has a few distinct features if you look closely.
