    Using squared paper would be a better option. I use A4 spiral blocks with squared sheets, 5x5 mm. Each square on the paper corresponds to one brick in FS. For me, paper and pencil works better, before I touch the computer. For larger designs, I opt for graph paper with 1 mm grid. If you have trouble finding anything useful at your local stationary store, you can print out your own squared paper using one of the several free web sites.
