20JUN2019: I have the knowledge & ability to perfect this one now, but want to spend some more time studying it to figure out all the composites I need to make. Expect an update soon!

I have just learned that Shift-Clicking a composite brick allows you to erase parts of it. I'm posting it as a comment since this knowledge is new to me. Hope it helps someone else out there!
