Bold Pixel is now Unicase.
Feel free to add suggestions here.
Please make sure they fit the design rules below
Could you please provide a reference link to the design rules you followed, or are they quite personal/fanciful? (as there seems to be various definitions - e.g. Wikipedia's, which is absolutely permissive.) Otherwise, I am afraid I cannot comment a lot more, besides the fact that I wish we all get rid of the Latin uppercase (and many symbols b.t.w.), eventually. (My selection of 'micro' glyphs would be even shorter, simpler, better.) Deleting your uppercase might help understand this special or incomplete script (the 'lowercase', actually the unicase -is it better here?-, looks deceptively erroneous with it, your dotted 'ex-UC' I and J almost funny, then…). Bye!
The letter is not wider than 10 bricks.
The main letter is not taller than 8 bricks.
It must make sense.
@Dpla The Capitals Are Still Important.
Ah, OK for the matrix (as the only rule I can get now - which is not unicase-related at all)…
If you were into minimalism for many years, you'll have to decide whether the LC or the UC are of the most importance (in order to spare a great deal of bits). The LC glyphs being more varied (than the UC glyphs), The Lowercase Is More Important. You can see this applied e.g. in "B" = "8" (where "b" <> "8").
I can tell the difference between B and 8.
Exactly, with vector and great matrices… But te catch is this: with a 'micro' matrix (below ~ 3x5), one just cannot this easily, unfortunately in 1 bit 'pure B&W). Hence the required 'trick' of discarding the UC, and NOT the opposite way. (I hear you say: what about the proper nouns? well: there is a strong style nowadays, that allows writing and reading in LC only [of course it's a bit more less readable]. See all the huge internet brands, for instance… they got rid of their UC because the LC are more legible, humble, comfy… I'd say thrifty in 'my' field.)
3x3 with 1 gray:
███ ███
██▒ ▒█▒
███ ███
3x3 as pure B&W:
███ ███
███ ███
███ ███
Now you cannot tell the difference between B and 8 anymore…
(with a standard 'micro' design, i.e. 1-bit and very low-res).
VERSUS…
█░░ ███
███ ███
███ ███
(= v1)
█░░ ░██
███ ███
███ ██░
(= v2)
…for instance.
Uppercase is bound to disappear sooner or later (in a dot-based world of text).
Last word: your "Bold Pixel" font helps the transition.
