In the "Spirit" font group the fonts are interchangeable as they use the same grid scales. Spirit of Earth is the first font of this group. It one has fewer glyphs than other fonts I made because of the extremely decorated lines. But I did make LC accents for French, German, English and Danish. More will follow. I'll keep away from the punctuation/most symbols of the "more Latin" set.There%20are%205%20elements%20for%20me.%20Each%20will%20name%20a%20font.%20In%20the%20%22Spirit%22%20font%20group%20the%20fonts%20are%20interchangeable%20as%20they%20use%20the%20same%20grid%20scales.%20Spirit%20of%20Earth%20is%20the%20first%20font%20of%20this%20group.%20It%20one%20has%20fewer%20glyphs%20than%20other%20fonts%20I%20made%20because%20of%20the%20extremely%20decorated%20lines.%20But%20I%20did%20make%20LC%20accents%20for%20French%2C%20German%2C%20English%20and%20Danish.%20More%20will%20follow.%20I%27ll%20keep%20away%20from%20the%20punctuation%2Fmost%20symbols%20of%20the%20%22more%20Latin%22%20set.

My typeface is based on the word 'Energy'. The design journey started with me looking into electrical energy, and the result (See: "Fused Font Thin") led me to explore magnetic energy patterns within iron fillings. Next, during the process of creating a magnetic energy typeface I saw similarities with sound waves in my designs, and so also tried to combine the two. The result was "Energy Vibration". Lots of energy drinks were consumed for inspiration and staying up for hours trying to battle the server. The task was to create a full typeface on the font building website, fontstruct.com. The final design had to relate to a chosen theme, my chosen theme for this project was Motion in which I pursued the subject of optical illusions. I liked the idea of trying to create a false sense of movement with a font, taking inspiration from existing optical illusions with the same effect. This then led me to look at the 'Op' art movement of the 1960's, in particular the extensive work of Bridget Riley.
