I thought for a long time what to do with the font and decided to try make it quite clean but different at the same time. My main focus on this Font was to make sure it was clean enough to read without any difficulties. That i think i've achieved.My%20Final%20%27Sharp%27%20Fontstruct%20that%20I%20created%20for%20my%20University%20project%20in%20Graphic%20Design.%0D%0AI%20thought%20for%20a%20long%20time%20what%20to%20do%20with%20the%20font%20and%20decided%20to%20try%20make%20it%20quite%20clean%20but%20different%20at%20the%20same%20time.%20My%20main%20focus%20on%20this%20Font%20was%20to%20make%20sure%20it%20was%20clean%20enough%20to%20read%20without%20any%20difficulties.%20That%20i%20think%20i%27ve%20achieved.

I started looking at how the time of day effected the shape and the size of the subsequent shadow cast. However, I then moved onto the ideas of bevels and a more subtle shadow effect created by raised centres of the letterforms. The 'impossible triangle' effect came from a idea that was brought up in a critique about 'extending it and making it really elaborate'. The name is chosen because I think that typefaces should have friendly names.a%20typeface%20centred%20around%20the%20key%20theme%2Fword%20%27shadow%27.%20I%20started%20looking%20at%20how%20the%20time%20of%20day%20effected%20the%20shape%20and%20the%20size%20of%20the%20subsequent%20shadow%20cast.%20However%2C%20I%20then%20moved%20onto%20the%20ideas%20of%20bevels%20and%20a%20more%20subtle%20shadow%20effect%20created%20by%20raised%20centres%20of%20the%20letterforms.%20The%20%27impossible%20triangle%27%20effect%20came%20from%20a%20idea%20that%20was%20brought%20up%20in%20a%20critique%20about%20%27extending%20it%20and%20making%20it%20really%20elaborate%27.%20The%20name%20is%20chosen%20because%20I%20think%20that%20typefaces%20should%20have%20friendly%20names.

I chose Ornate. I was particularly drawn to this theme due to its relations with Biblical manuscripts and the architecture within Churches. I ended up combining the manuscript like lettering with features of Churches. I realised that this combination creates a great contrast between thick and thin, straight and curves. I found it difficult to create curves on font struct, but I rose to the challenge and created this. The idea developed further when I saw some Greek decoration while researching on the internet. The two came together, the meeting of curves, lines and spirals to form Keys, a modern take on ancient symbolism mixed with a reminder of industrial exuberance.This%20font%20was%20inspired%20by%20the%20wrought%20iron%20work%20I%20have%20noticed%20when%20exploring%20Bristol.%20The%20idea%20developed%20further%20when%20I%20saw%20some%20Greek%20decoration%20while%20researching%20on%20the%20internet.%20The%20two%20came%20%20together%2C%20the%20meeting%20of%20curves%2C%20lines%20and%20spirals%20to%20form%20Keys%2C%20a%20modern%20take%20on%20ancient%20symbolism%20mixed%20with%20a%20reminder%20of%20industrial%20exuberance.

I chose vibration as my theme as I explored my theme I was drawn to line graphs which help record the frequency of sounds. I wanted my typeface to resemble this like it was on an ECG monitor. I also looked at John Skelton’s pinpression typeface which truly inspired my font, having continuous lines connecting all of the characters was very important and finding his work showed me that it was possible.
