It balances masculine base anatomy with feminine sensibilities, making it a versatile and unique font choice. Discretionary serifs serve the dual purpose of assisting spacing and giving the font personality. Since Kathryn started from fairly conservative pieces, it can be scaled to very small sizes and retain readability. A stripped-down, non-decorative version will follow soon after this release, as well as a light version. I find the elegance of the thin lines with occasional curves and thicker areas looks very much like a willow wand with knots in the wood. The '&' was tricky, in the end I made it to resemble a climbing vine.
