Because Katakana are usually romanized to two English letters, IE "ka","se","te" I made a "subtractive font". When one types the letter "k", the characters for "ka","ki","ku","ke", and "ko" appear. Then, when one types a vowel, a,e,i,o or u, a mask is applied that blocks out opposing vowel combinations. For the Katakana representing a i u e or o, just type the capital vowel.This%20is%20a%20work%20in%20progress%20to%20produce%20a%20font%20capable%20of%20printing%20common%20katakana%20characters%20from%20Japanese.%20Because%20Katakana%20are%20usually%20romanized%20to%20two%20English%20letters%2C%20IE%20%22ka%22%2C%22se%22%2C%22te%22%20I%20made%20a%20%22subtractive%20font%22.%20When%20one%20types%20the%20letter%20%22k%22%2C%20the%20characters%20for%20%22ka%22%2C%22ki%22%2C%22ku%22%2C%22ke%22%2C%20and%20%22ko%22%20appear.%20Then%2C%20when%20one%20types%20a%20vowel%2C%20a%2Ce%2Ci%2Co%20or%20u%2C%20a%20mask%20is%20applied%20that%20blocks%20out%20opposing%20vowel%20combinations.%20For%20the%20Katakana%20representing%20a%20i%20u%20e%20or%20o%2C%20just%20type%20the%20capital%20vowel.
