Category: Display37%20downloads3710%20comments1035%20glyphs35A%20favorite%20of%2042%20users42The%20font%20Flomotion%20is%20the%20outcome%20to%20my%20first%20semester%20at%20UWE%2C%20studying%20Graphic%20Design.%20The%20task%20was%20to%20create%20a%20full%20typeface%20on%20the%20font%20building%20website%2C%20fontstruct.com.%20The%20final%20design%20had%20to%20relate%20to%20a%20chosen%20theme%2C%20my%20chosen%20theme%20for%20this%20project%20was%20Motion%20in%20which%20I%20pursued%20the%20subject%20of%20optical%20illusions.%20I%20liked%20the%20idea%20of%20trying%20to%20create%20a%20false%20sense%20of%20movement%20with%20a%20font%2C%20taking%20inspiration%20from%20existing%20optical%20illusions%20with%20the%20same%20effect.%20This%20then%20led%20me%20to%20look%20at%20the%20%27Op%27%20art%20movement%20of%20the%201960%27s%2C%20in%20particular%20the%20extensive%20work%20of%20Bridget%20Riley.%20Her%20use%20of%20black%20and%20white%20line%20giving%20the%20illusion%20of%20depth%20had%20a%20big%20influence%20on%20my%20work%20and%20I%20think%20my%20final%20design%20reflects%20this.

Category: -19%20downloads1957%20glyphs57A%20favorite%20of%202%20users2As%20part%20of%20my%20first%20project%20on%20the%20Graphic%20Design%20BA%20Hons%20degree%20at%20UWE%2C%20we%20were%20asked%20to%20design%20a%20font%20based%20on%20a%20theme.%20The%20theme%20I%20chose%20was%20motion.%20I%20started%20with%20a%20few%20different%20ideas%20and%20by%20sketching%20and%20practising%20on%20here%20I%20ended%20up%20choosing%20skidmarks%20found%20on%20the%20road%20left%20by%20cars.%20Using%20the%20lines%20that%20the%20tyremarks%20leave%2C%20I%20created%20this%20font.%20I%27ve%20kept%20it%20simple%2C%20which%20is%20how%20I%20prefer%20my%20work%20to%20be.%20I%20think%20the%20clean%20lines%20that%20I%27ve%20used%20also%20make%20it%20resemble%20the%20tracks%20of%20a%20scalextric%20set.
