Then I was shining light from behind and the result looked somewhat like what you see here. (The little non-circular holes came from the circles that didn't fit properly into their holes)based%20on%20a%20typeface%20I%20created%20by%20cutting%20holes%20in%20a%20styrofoam%20tray%2C%20then%20putting%20the%20circles%20that%20I%20cut%20out%20back%20into%20some%20of%20the%20holes.%20Then%20I%20was%20shining%20light%20from%20behind%20and%20the%20result%20looked%20somewhat%20like%20what%20you%20see%20here.%20%28The%20little%20non-circular%20holes%20came%20from%20the%20circles%20that%20didn%27t%20fit%20properly%20into%20their%20holes%29

I designed a matching lower-case set and additional punctuation. The original seems to be a bit wider too, with more horizontal space between the stars than vertical. UPDATE: Jan 25, 2010 - I fixed the $ and () to reflect the original design by doubling all of the character sizes.
