I%20was%20inspired%20by%20the%20word%20squishy.i%20started%20of%20looking%20at%20squishy%20objects%2Ci%20did%20a%20few%20experiments%20with%20toothpaste%20and%20liked%20the%20idea%20of%20flow.I%20looked%20at%20Benoit%20Bodhin%20and%20his%20font%20Pipo%20to%20give%20me%20inspiration%20to%20keep%20flow%20throughout%20the%20letters%20without%20them%20actually%20being%20joined.

Category: Display37%20downloads3710%20comments1035%20glyphs35A%20favorite%20of%2042%20users42The%20font%20Flomotion%20is%20the%20outcome%20to%20my%20first%20semester%20at%20UWE%2C%20studying%20Graphic%20Design.%20The%20task%20was%20to%20create%20a%20full%20typeface%20on%20the%20font%20building%20website%2C%20fontstruct.com.%20The%20final%20design%20had%20to%20relate%20to%20a%20chosen%20theme%2C%20my%20chosen%20theme%20for%20this%20project%20was%20Motion%20in%20which%20I%20pursued%20the%20subject%20of%20optical%20illusions.%20I%20liked%20the%20idea%20of%20trying%20to%20create%20a%20false%20sense%20of%20movement%20with%20a%20font%2C%20taking%20inspiration%20from%20existing%20optical%20illusions%20with%20the%20same%20effect.%20This%20then%20led%20me%20to%20look%20at%20the%20%27Op%27%20art%20movement%20of%20the%201960%27s%2C%20in%20particular%20the%20extensive%20work%20of%20Bridget%20Riley.%20Her%20use%20of%20black%20and%20white%20line%20giving%20the%20illusion%20of%20depth%20had%20a%20big%20influence%20on%20my%20work%20and%20I%20think%20my%20final%20design%20reflects%20this.

Category: -7%20downloads71%20comments131%20glyphs31A%20favorite%20of%202%20users2As%20part%20of%20a%20project%20for%20my%20graphic%20design%20course%20at%20UWE%2C%20our%20brief%20was%20to%20create%20a%20typeface%20based%20on%20a%20theme.%20I%20chose%20vibration%20as%20my%20theme%20as%20I%20explored%20my%20theme%20I%20was%20drawn%20to%20line%20graphs%20which%20help%20record%20the%20frequency%20of%20sounds.%20I%20wanted%20my%20typeface%20to%20resemble%20this%20like%20it%20was%20on%20an%20ECG%20monitor.%20I%20also%20looked%20at%20John%20Skelton%E2%80%99s%20pinpression%20typeface%20which%20truly%20inspired%20my%20font%2C%20having%20continuous%20lines%20connecting%20all%20of%20the%20characters%20was%20very%20important%20and%20finding%20his%20work%20showed%20me%20that%20it%20was%20possible.%20This%20is%20my%20first%20attempt%20at%20creating%20a%20typeface%20and%20there%20are%20still%20alterations%20that%20need%20to%20be%20done.
