The A reminded me of a tribal design, so the name Aztec is quite fitting I think! It still needs some tweeking though. I began by looking at jewelry and "flourishes" on other fonts. After playing around with shapes and curves I realised i hadn't been thinking outside of the box. Ornate could have different meanings and take many forms. I then took interest in Aztec and Native American prints. I particularly liked the "hand crafted"/"imperfect" shapes and chose to comunicate the rawness in my typeface.Spaztec%20was%20origanally%20inspired%20by%20the%20word%20%22ornate%22.%0D%0AI%20began%20by%20looking%20at%20jewelry%20and%20%22flourishes%22%20on%20other%20fonts.%20After%20playing%20around%20with%20shapes%20and%20curves%20I%20realised%20i%20hadn%27t%20been%20thinking%20outside%20of%20the%20box.%20%0D%0AOrnate%20could%20have%20different%20meanings%20and%20take%20many%20forms.%20I%20then%20took%20interest%20in%20Aztec%20and%20Native%20American%20prints.%20I%20particularly%20liked%20the%20%22hand%20crafted%22%2F%22imperfect%22%20shapes%20and%20chose%20to%20comunicate%20the%20rawness%20in%20my%20typeface.

My font is based on the word 'Ornate'. At first I started looking at Iron gates, Jewelry, but after spending about a week trying to make curves on fontstruct and failing each time, i decided to look at native american print and aztec design. The%20finished%20product%20from%20the%20first%20communicating%20with%20words%20module%20at%20UWE%20in%20Bristol.%20My%20font%20is%20based%20on%20the%20word%20%27Ornate%27.%20At%20first%20I%20started%20looking%20at%20Iron%20gates%2C%20Jewelry%2C%20but%20after%20spending%20about%20a%20week%20trying%20to%20make%20curves%20on%20fontstruct%20and%20failing%20each%20time%2C%20i%20decided%20to%20look%20at%20native%20american%20print%20and%20aztec%20design.%20
