This is a clone of zimonart R eYe/FSYears ago, a small font from 2008 caught my eye. Now I've dared to use its structure to modify and complete it, and thus create a new visual experiment. I'm sorry, diacritics are the weak point. Hope you like it. ¡Y Feliz Navidad a todos, amigos!
This is a cloneI love these kinds of fonts that have geometric puzzle-solving quality in the design. I was quite happy with how the lowercase found a way to be connected. Then I thought let me not mess with anything else. But a Z is so much like a 2, so I created the 2 out of the Z. Then when 2 was done, I was aprehensive of tackling the 1 because the vertical stem would be off by one brick, and how would that be resolved. Reluctantly I tried it...and it worked. 3 can be created from the B, but the B hasn't been created yet. OK, I guess I have to do the uppercase. A was easy. B was surpringly easy. Which gave me motivation to go on. And surprisingly soon, the whole thing came together. The hardest letters to shape were X and S. Not all letters are very successful, but they are distinctive enough to be recognized as themselves. Not sure about the =, but it will do, I suppose. In any case, no kerning required.
MIKITA - A "Chrome Script" style font based on the "Makita" logo type.
It is a simple 'semi' connected script, with only the basic character set. I don't feel like this requires having tons of typographic features. It is just aimed at writing simple things in this script style.
I hope you like it nonetheless
Cheers
Another handwriting script style font. Some suggestions for a better results: 1) You can put an additional bar (placed in the "<" and ">" glyphs) before typing a lowercase word. 2) And it's also convenient to add an extra space before writing a word with a capital letter to improve the separation between they. But you're the boss with it. Enjoy.
I've already gotten into another mess. Again a "2-in-1" font. It may work as is, but if you want to convert it to a script one you have to use some connectors between the letters, placed in the glyphs <, >, \, [, ], {, }. You must try each of them between two characters because there are many possible combinations. I add some samples down here. Don't worry and be patient, please, the result is worth it. Oh well, the actual "</>" glyphs are finally in the "©/™". To see all working, copy and paste the following sentence in the User Input window, please: Th>e q>u>i>c}k b[r{o[w[n f>o[x j{u]m]p\s o[v{e[r t]h>e l>a{zy d>o{g.
This is a cloneWith this font I am late to the competition, but I still love Art Deco a lot.

Uppercase Letters: normal letters
Lowercase Letters: has some modifications (ß is an exception)
C, E, F, H, K, N, S, and X: has connections upwards
L, N, R, and Z: has connections downwards
G and Q: has a swoosh
O: has a different design
Numbers : normal numbers
< : different design of 0
> : connection upwards 2
$ : connection upwards 4
^ : connection upwards 6
` : connection downwards 9
ELEVATED (REWORK) - A 3D outline display typeface design with shadow effect.
It's inspired by the lettering from a sketch by great Dutch graphical designer "Jurriaan Schrofer".
===========================================================
This re-work differs from Jurriaan's original sketch and my previous versions.
I changed the size to grid ratio, drastically reducing overall glyph size and increase stroke weight. The changes are optimizing the design, making it more suitable for digital display use. (more accurate 'print' version forthcoming).
===========================================================
Due to the inexperience I had in my early days of FontStructing, and the lack of proper knowledge about raster scaling, I faced some serious issues regarding the correct size distribution. This made it impossible to include the diagonal lines correctly into that old version of the font, with the diagonals also having equal seporation and white space throughout the entire design.
So instead of making a clone of my previously published version "STF_ELEVATED" in order to include the shadow style variation into that existing family as a seporate FontStruction (like I did with most other style variations in my "LETTERS OP MAAT" series), for this one I decided to rebuild the entire typeface from scratch.
Putting all the style variations together into this single re-worked design.
Some extra characters were added to the set, making it a slightly more functional basic font.
===========================================================
The shadow effect is the default style for this font, this also includes all numerals, punctuation marks and other symbols that make up the full font, these occupy the uppercase. The outline style A-Z glyphs occupy the lowercase.
Enjoy!
a connected version of "folletto fino"...
This is a clone of Folletto FinoA pixel font which combines four experimental techniques at once:
1. Structurally disconnecting the stems from the open parts of letters.
2. Allowing glyphs to extend beyond the reaches of width and starting position.
3. Designing glyphs specifically to connect and form new shapes, rather than simply allowing shapes to emerge from existing characteristics.
4. Designing glyphs so that the overall font is free of a need for kerning.
*
Alternates are now on UPPER CASE. I'll continue to update this as I get more ideas!
*
Original size: 6.75pt (use multiples of this value for pixel perfection)
Some kind of great big ol' chain.
In retrospect, I think it looks like a jewelry chain from a dwarven civilization. Perhaps the hypothetical jeweler cut and ground the stones in an imitation of some dwarven font!
When glyphs are used in isolation, they somewhat resemble carved signets or seals. Increasing the letter spacing allows you to create a variation of the design. (This is something that must be done in-software since the font will render as monospaced by default.)
*
12SEP2018: Added lowercase... the low resolution combined with the design method make it very difficult to render distinctive lowercase versions of every letter, but I'll keep working on it. There's a lot of similarity between pairs like S/5, Z/2, etc., so this font is most effectively used in forms of writing wherein context suffices to inform the reader as to the identity of each glyph (lists, prose, and technical writings). If you want to use this in a password system or something, I recommend using one case's glyphs only.
*
Design Rules:
1. Negative spaces will be areas of 0.5 bricks' effective length or width.
2. Negative spaces may exceed the 0.5 measurement only by increments of 0.5 and in only one dimension at a time.
3. Glyphs will fill their framed canvasses to the greatest extent possible while adhering to the other rules.
Inspired by the Maze Set. A technical fontstruction showing the usage for thinner macaroni bricks. The logic for possible counter relation:
1) Every letter is filled with thinner version of itself (self-pattern fill).
2) Outline vs Inline, emphasizing the "opposite" meaning of counter.
UPDATE 07 Oct 17: In February something happened to the font, re-arranging every single brick to somewhere else. I just now got around to fixing it.
Parentheses can be used as caps for the beginnings and ends of sentences.
My final entry in the competition. Inspired by Mazey, zlabyrinths eYe/FS, and wavelength. Each glyph has its own maze, and each maze connects with the next. Tilde ~ and low line _ connect words, grave ` closes beginnings and ends, and the left and right arrows < > are for the start and end. There are also some alternates in Extended Latin A. Suggestions and critiques are welcome. Thanks!
