I melted wax onto alphabet fridge magnets then copied them into Frontstruct. This was a very lengthy process which too weeks to create, however I am happy with the final design.My%20typeface%20was%20inspired%20by%20the%20idea%20of%20squishy%20warm%20candle%20wax.%20I%20melted%20wax%20onto%20alphabet%20fridge%20magnets%20then%20copied%20them%20into%20Frontstruct.%20This%20was%20a%20very%20lengthy%20process%20which%20too%20weeks%20to%20create%2C%20however%20I%20am%20happy%20with%20the%20final%20design.

Our first project this year was to design a typeface based around a word of our choosing. I opted for ‘Pompous’, as it stood out to me from the list. During the project I visited Bristol Cathedral several times, and spent time in and around Bridgwater, looking at anything that I found to be pompous, such as cast-iron work and Baroque architecture. My final design is influenced by Gothic typefaces and raised lead tombstones/plaques. Looking at certain geometric shapes I focussed on how a letter could be 'pulled' apart into something completely different and chaotic.Influenced%20by%20shattered%20glass%20and%20the%20idea%20of%20%27ordered%20chaos%27%2C%20I%20created%20a%20type%20that%20would%20appear%20to%20be%20both%20legible%20and%20illegible.%20Looking%20at%20certain%20geometric%20shapes%20I%20focussed%20on%20how%20a%20letter%20could%20be%20%27pulled%27%20apart%20into%20something%20completely%20different%20and%20chaotic.
