I haven't released any fontstructions in months, but I've constantly been trying to find new methods of fontstructing more sophisticated shapes. This is the result. Not yet finished though. Feedback welcome. The subtle roundings give it a somewhat handpainted look which i quite like.Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000squeezehttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/squeeze_2http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/324090
trying to break the grid once more... composite is a great feature... still running into a lot of problems though. in had a great start with this one. i think the squeezed curves create great shapes but i don't know if it's worth creating upper case letters for. this is more like an extended experiment. unfortunately spacing is aweful once again...Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000yobbohttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/yobbohttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/202329
This has been in the making for quite some time and I was only able to work on it because of the new fontstruct features. all bricks i used for this fontstructions were half-sized bricks. i mean half-circles, half-sized blocks and so on. also i worked with 1.75 scaling. thanks to this kind of setup i was able to create roundings, that go a little over or below flat-shaped letters. see the sample. also lower case letter like l, k, h and so on are a little taller than upper case letters, like in "real" fonts. the disadvantage is seen on M,W,m,w where the stem in the middle is a little too short... i had to use a very weird workaround for these 3-stem letters, so this is as good as it gets, unless fontstruct is going to have an empty space brick, that would allow me to create a fitting composite. i used lots of composites and lots of stacking. also the spacing isn't very nice, i'll see if i can do anything about that.Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000puncturehttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/puncturehttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/282328
something i've been working on recently. i'm still looking for a solution to virtually increase my screen resolution, so i would have more grid space. i don't know if the line strength is consistent and i propably won't start with the capital letters until then. anyway i thought i might as well throw this in to see what you guys think about it so far.Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000hexastructhttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/hexastructhttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/272219
another experiment. using a hexagon with rounded edges as the base of every glyph. i try to break the grid and achive new forms by using odd filter settings.Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000curvyhttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/curvy_28http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/271231
an experiment with italic script-like shapes. many flaws left.Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000generohttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/generohttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/264818
it's been a long time since i released a fontstruction. today i felt like doing one again. it features smooth transitions from diagonals to roundings, notable on the S and Z.Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000tuvaluahttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/tuvaluahttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/211858
resubmission of the original fontstruction. added capitals and tweaked the overall readability.Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000ripperhttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/ripperhttp://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/203827
Please see the samples in the comments.
