I needed to do something simple. It’s inspired by the Iron Man movie logo (I got curious after seeing this font).

Here’s Noptical as it was meant to be. Two years in the making, still an ugly font! But look: better spacing, 1333 glyphs, all latin variants you could wish for (including Vietnamese), Greek, Cyrillic, Braille, Yijing hexagrams, the not yet Unicode-encoded Rouble sign, interrobang (after a design by Adien Gunarta), even a tombstone!

Genji-mon

Font representing the Genji-mon (so called because they were used to mark each chapter of the world’s first novel, the Genji monogatari), a system of symbols which indicate all the possible groupings and subgroupings of five elements. They were used in kumikō, a japanese ceremony/game about guessing different types of incense by smell. The number of all combinations of five elements is 52, but I reproduced the 54 symbols used to mark the Genji monogatari chapters, which contain the same symbol in two variations and a made-up one as well. I did the font because I think it was perfect for Fontstruct. But if you need something more polished, and in four different styles, there is it.

Something quickly put together, based on a pretty simple module in between gothic and moorish. I thought there’s something festive about it, hence the name.

Something “clarendonesque”. Lowercase is obviously darker than uppercase. I wish I had found a better solution for S. At the moment, it lacks brackets.

An ongoing try to use curves' radius as big as possible compared to the size of the letters. Alas, obviously without any optical correction whatsoever. Using a near square grid obviously led to a Microgramma-like appearance.

Some variations on the yin-yang symbol. incidentally exposing the fact that in Fontstruct you can create negative shapes unattainable in positive (and vice-versa).

I have dozens of unfinished fonts I keep tweaking and expanding. I needed to publish something. So I started a new one ;-) All latin and more latin glyphs, 2x3 grid, no filters, a good deal of composites, spacing like there’s no such thing. Enjoy! :-)

A “finger” version of Noptical. I’m not yet 100% sure of the curves’ placement on all characters. But I think the overall appearance is pleasing :-)
