I wanted it to look really precise with clean cut sections out of the characters. I also interpreted 'sharp' to be 'on point' and 'ordered', so wanted my type to look clean. I was inspired a lot by Bodoni as its such a clean type with contrasting thick and thin lines which also relates to the cutting and slicing.
