It references the idea of how things decay when they are forgotten and so parts of each of the letters are missing. This links to the idea it is based on the courier font which was used in the typewriter. It shows a link that once something is forgotten e.g. technology such as a type writer it starts to decay. This typeface also has reference to the ideas of the bacteria that cause decay and so hence called prokaryotes which is the term used to describe this bacteria.
