I started this Fontstruction with a blank canvas and blank mind, and decided to draw my phone (guess which one that is!) to just warm up. Before I knew it, the idea for the whole design was staring me right in the face. Hopping around the internet, looking for images and information on which phones to draw was great fun. Who knew that the first ‘personal communicator’ was the IBM South Bell Simon, which combined the features of a mobile phone, a pager, a PDA, and a fax machine. Yes, you read that right! The Simon was also nine inches tall.%2AUpdated%20to%2026%20characters%2A%0D%0A%0D%0AI%20started%20this%20Fontstruction%20with%20a%20blank%20canvas%20and%20blank%20mind%2C%20and%20decided%20to%20draw%20my%20phone%20%28guess%20which%20one%20that%20is%21%29%20to%20just%20warm%20up.%20Before%20I%20knew%20it%2C%20the%20idea%20for%20the%20whole%20design%20was%20staring%20me%20right%20in%20the%20face.%20Hopping%20around%20the%20internet%2C%20looking%20for%20images%20and%20information%20on%20which%20phones%20to%20draw%20was%20great%20fun.%20Who%20knew%20that%20the%20first%20%E2%80%98personal%20communicator%E2%80%99%20was%20the%20IBM%20South%20Bell%20Simon%2C%20which%20combined%20the%20features%20of%20a%20mobile%20phone%2C%20a%20pager%2C%20a%20PDA%2C%20and%20a%20fax%20machine.%20Yes%2C%20you%20read%20that%20right%21%20The%20Simon%20was%20also%20nine%20inches%20tall.
