P.S. There’s a starting character on Í (option+shift+s for Mac). Spaces can be used to pad the wave effect and create shapes and background textures. Enjoy!

Electrical Energy has opened the doors to whole new worlds of creativity, specifically when it comes to computer technology. Here is my first fontstruction for a brief set on my Graphic Design course at UWE. It was originally based on the theme of repetition and the game Space Invaders. During development, it then started to take inspiration from the form of a digital display and began to look futuristic. I then carried on with this theme to finally end up with my font, Digitalistic. Any feedback will be much appreciated.

Exactly one year ago two of my cousins, Chris and Cleofe, got into a dealer-loaned Lexus for a trip after their main car was being repaired. Cleofe's husband, a CHP officer, was driving and their teen daughter was along for the ride. While on the freeway, the accelerator became stuck and they lost control of the car. As the runaway vehicle sped up to over 100 mph, all four passengers were killed in a fiery crash in the San Diego River. The loss was unquantifiably devastating. This immensely tragic event led my aunt to testify before congress with damning evidence that would initiate the recall of millions of Toyota vehicles. Requiemme Decorum was created on the way down to southern California for the funeral services. For Chris, Cleofe, Mark, and Mahala, may you all rest in peace and love.

So, I chose this name for a number of reasons: I moved to Berlin two weeks ago, and that revigorated my interest in typography, leading to the inspiration for this font -- maybe not the most original, but pretty fun to make. Another reason for this name is the accidental (or at least a conscious decision that started as an accident) blackletter-like capitals. There is also the hebrew look of some of the minuscules -- the n is a good example -- to complement the whole idea. I chose tight spacing and am not so sure about some characters, so any critic is, as always, welcome. I hope you find use for this typeface. Have fun!
