What about an explosion, and barriers?
Just added them! I can't believe I forgot to do this earlier!
Good job, but have you considered drawing the shields in parts so they can be shot in different places?
Excellent work, Asthanius!
P.S. You can see my rather limited take on "Space Invaders" here:
The 1st Six Yrs 2of6
@truth14ful: I don't see how that could work. When you type different letters or numbers, there will always be a small space in between them, so if I made two halves of a shield and then typed them next to each other, there would be a small space in between them.
I've also used this theme in the sample for my font "zkandia eYe/FS". Nice glyphs, even now!(http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/390644)
Don't doubt: It was a Very Gooood Time!
@Asthanius: If you type the letter "W" on the FontStructor grid, it will bring up the Letter Width marker. (Alternately, go to Advanced -> View -> Letter Width)
Drag the width marker left or right to decrease or increase space after your character. That will take care of the extra "small space".
What you propose with the barriers CAN be done -- it just won't be easy! ;^)
Ah. Well, I'll try that.
Packed with dynamic tension, Uptake is an exciting and characterful but also eminently usable sans.
