Somebody else is bound to have come across this problem: it's a 2x2 scheme using morphed bricks and composites. Most of the glyphs' spacings behave, but a few of them crash, and I can't figure out why. I also don't seem to have any control over the spacing itself: most of them have a single brickspace, but some of them seem to have arbitrary widths that I can't change. Is it something to do with the 2x2 scheme? I'll be sad if I can't fix it because I like the font...

Nevertheless it's amazingly clean. Reminds me of smooth jazz.

By the way the z doesn't fit in. Regarding the spacing: did you enable Letter Width?

@Intaglio:Frankly, concerning spacing, you simply forgot the brick blank after the q,t and z. I added these blanks on a private clone it seems to be working for me.
Concerning letters, i know it's a work in progress but here are some thoughts : i'm not sure the less wide z works as the less wide r does. I also think the v can be easily perceived as a "u", what creates ammbiguity. Maybe it could help. But you're the boss on it.

@ne: Dear pal, don't punish this font so quick, please. These long arcs are superb. Go FStructing!

@Elmoyenique : You didn't understand my comment, i'm an Intaglio absolute fan and this font is no exception ! I didn't say anything as you seem to suggest! Please read carefully before commenting and accusing !

I realise the u and z are less than ideal, but I haven't figured out if there's a solution yet. I'm in two minds about alleged mismatched glyph-widths anyway. I can live with the z, particularly if I can't find an elegant solution otherwise. Certainly I've made it very difficult for myself, using the bricks I have. The problem is angle and weight. And I haven't even got to the dreaded x yet.
Meanwhile regards the spacing: I'm not sure I understand you right, neurone. By brick blank, do you mean the right-bearing spaces after the glyphs? I tried adjusting the problem ones, but the spaces only stayed where they were while I was in each glyph window. When I moved to a different glyph and then back again, the spacing guide had adjusted itself hard up against the right side of each glyph again. Or something weird like the guide positioning itself four spaces to the right.
I haven't gone back in to the file yet, but if it behaved itself when you cloned it, maybe I can do the same if the problem persists.

@intaglio Turn on the letter width guide and then move the green vertical bar one brick space to the right on the q, t, etc.

About that q picture above^: How did u make most of those brix?

@neurone I don't think elmoyenique was accusing you of anything, just pointing out that you did not praise the font at all. I'm not saying that's bad, you just jumped straight to the tips. :)

@elmoyenique neurone wasn't being too harsh, right? I don't think it was such a big deal. No harm intended, guys.:)

@intaglio The middle section of z does not have to be a straight line, you know...

@micgio Those bricks were made with composites. Refer to the comments on djnippa's font All Composites made in MY BRICKS for more info.

Re spacing: doh. Somebody kick me in the bum. I needed to actually read demonic's comment instead of glossing over it. Serves me right. Regards the z problem: the width goes too far the other way if I do as indicated. Yes, I know I don't have to use a diagonal at all, using a crossbar style instead, but I think I'd rather put up with a short diagonal. Unless somebody has a bright idea how to get round it. I'm all ears.

The crossbar doesn't have to be horizontal! What about 3:1 bricks, near horizontal?

Hmm. I don't think I'm going to prefer the result, but I'll give it a go.

Maybe I have an unreasonable prejudice for this sort of a solution. Maybe it will grow on me. I guess I could try a three-block composite rather than a two. If that doesn't introduce unacceptable weight issues.

Here’s an advanced and a simple solution. The advanced solution does use a three-block composite. But the simple one (3x4) fits in best with the rest. You may have been over thinking this one! ;)

Despite the problems, this lovely design is really worth pursuing. As ever I stand in awe of you who have mastered the 2:2 format.

will.i.om is a genius. Although I did like that solution you had, intaglio. Did you leave that “wedge” of white space there on purpose? To eliminate that if it was accidental, just create a composite of 4 of those half-brick thingies (the bricks that are horizontally divided in half with the filled in part on the bottom) and shift+click to erase the top 2 and the bottom right one. Then just stack it on.

Of course if will.i.om’s solution suits you better, go for it. You won't hurt my feelings :)

Shame about those crossbars. I painted myself into a corner by using those damn elbows and now I'm paying.

By the way p2pnut: the monitor must have got a fright. It's come right again. Now it's going to persecute me with the Dreaded Intermittent Fault.
