I feel your pain. I've had to take a few of my finished Fonstructions and edit them in FontLab to beat those Z's into submission. Nice work nonetheless.
One of the increasingly nagging drawbacks of brick scaling and brick overlapping seems to be an increase in those pesky 'notches' - where anchor points don't line up between connecting bricks. For example, see intaglio's l/c 'r' (love it! btw) here in magog. You'll notice if you zoom in on the terminal of the glyph the two notches distort the nice curve. Another good reason to grab something like TypeTool - you can go back into your font and make all those anchor points line up.
