inspired by Redonda and the other excellent fonts that have been done in this style. this is my first dot font. i searched to see if there were any italics and didn't find any; but they may be hiding here somewhere. started with lc just to see if i could do a basic set. then went for the uc and decided to make it a little more fancy or lyrical, if you will. then one thing led to another and i can't believe i did the whole basic latin :) i thought about waiting to release it, but changed my mind. this was fun and allows for the visualization of curves which really can't be done in FS. but still, i guess it's not like the real thing. oh, well :)

Really beautiful...one of your best works.

Brilliant, a perfect cousin to Redonda, and nice to see you finally adding the numbers and other characters. It makes it so much more complete. Not sure about the J, & both V's though, I think you can find better solutions.

I like the new G...not sure about the backwards F though.

Well done FK. A wonderful companion piece to Redonda. You've added unique touches in your own voice.

Nice italic tribute! I specially enjoy the "terminal curls"
(there! i put the endtag to avoid the whole page loading in italic)

Good move with the F, it did look like a European 7. Also nice tweak on the J - it now no longer looks like a 9. But the crown jewels for me are the different V's. They are both outstanding. In my book, this is probably you're most complete font to date. Oh just seen that you maybe a slight tweak on the advance spacing on the letter V. It needs reeling in a touch. If you need assistance with the letter spacing, give me a shout. There's a simple solution that I apply to all my fonts that seems to work.
Comment by djnippa 12th february 2010
I like the changes, but shouldn't the uppercase "V" solution be applied to the lowercase "v" (I’m talking about the left stroke angle)?
and the X’s might need that too
Comment by jmarquez 12th february 2010
thanks for all the compliments, suggestions and feedback. @dj - i have adjusted the V and a few others but will keep you in mind should i require additional help. @jm - i tried changing the v to match the V, but didn't like the look of it; the lc, except for the x, don't have any of the angles i used on the ascenders of the uc. may try the angles in the lc of another version :) @cayo - thanks for fixing that :)

again, thanks everyone.

I have been trying to make a new fontstruction, but it gets stuck "Loading your[my] fontstruction"

Gorgeous, no doubt. I wonder if it is just my eyes or if X and Z seem not to lean enough and 3 and 8 seem to lean too much. Given the dotted grid, it might not even be correctable. Beautiful, regardless.
