I shouldn't make these fonts public until they're finished, I suppose. But why start now?
I'm happy(ish) with this one, except for the glyph-from-hell, z. Each one I do of this sort of design gets closer and closer to the best I think it can be. That is: economy, and obedience to the constraints of the prefab construction but moderated by "warming" elements.
It's taken me a lot of designs to get here, and I do wonder if I'm going to be completely spent once I'm terminally happy with that final doomsday font.

I know this z is much more standard than you prefer--it's just a suggestion.
It's kinda bittersweet to know you are getting closer to your preferred ideal. What I have experienced is that once you reach that ideal, you find that your sub-conscious has moved your ideal to some other place further ahead. The journey continues as long as you want it to. Happy travels. :)

All suggestions gratefully accepted! I shall ditch the current z for this much better one.Tomorrow morning. I promised the wife I would come to bed (it's 3.00am, the Aussies have beat the Springboks, the Olympics is over for the night, we're sported out.)
Later: I'm such a dunce for not seeing this solution immediately. Left to my own devices I probably wouldn't have thought of the lower rounded terminal, though. A nice reinforcing touch.
