I began to look at and experiment with shadows as it’s the theme I have chosen. After a lot of trial and error I began to look at Italic type because it looked like the shadow made from regular type. I then looked into 3D work and how it creates shadows which lead me to folding paper into letters and looking at what shadows and shapes were created. I also incorporated that with the idea of Italics. After putting everything together I have created a typeface that has a sense of shadow and a 3D aspect to it. I have named my typeface, “Eclipse” because of the reference to the shadow formed when the sun passes over the moon during an eclipse.
